The Little Things in Life

So it is the little things in life that excite me. I went to get the mail and there were two yellow slips in my box. That means . . . .  packages!!!!!!

Here is what was in the mail!
My new IU license plate
My new lesson plan book!!!

I am so excited about both of them! Now I just need to start planning! I am also excited about learning more about my photoshop elements. I created the new banner at the top of the blog using photoshop. Not the best but it will do until I can find all the things I am looking for!

I am so excited that Chris bought me Photoshop for my birthday!!! I enrolled in an online class over at jessicasprague.com to try and learn some things about it so I can actually use it to at least 50% of its potential. I am so glad that I did.

This is the first attempt at a photo and at a digital scrapbook page. I guess I know what I will be doing at night now!!

Vacation

We went on vacation two weeks ago and still no post. THat is pretty sad. It was a great time with the entire family. I got to spend some quality time with the my big sis and nieces and also got some extra squeezes in with my nephews. The girls loved the beach this year and would have spent all day there if it hadn't been for the pool and food. I really believe I could live there!
Skylar learning to boogie board from Papa.
 What my world revolves around.
Getting a snack on the beach.

Lizzy's 6th Birthday

Like I said before a little late but the same month.
Lizzy's day was not nearly as packed as Skylar's because we had school. She went to school
and then we took her to eat at Red Robin. Grandma and Papa came along. She got to open one present from us that night.

Then, the next night we had the rest of the family over for dinner and cake and ice cream. It was a good two days!

Skylar's 9th Birthday

So a little late but still in the same month.
Skylar turned 9 and she had the greatest time because everyone was home for her birthday, it was the end of Spring Break, and it was on a Saturday.
We started Spring Break with going to Virginia to see the Harter's and go to American Girl. Then we came home and the Harter's came a day later. We got to got o YoYo's and spend the day with everyone for Skylar's birthday.

I love watching all the cousins play together and having everyone home together. It was a great week!

Motivation

That is the key for me, motivation. I have to be motivated to loose weight because it is hard and takes more time, effort, and money to do. I notice when I am stressed or life is crazy I eat a lot of crap. I have tried to make some small changes such as: having fruit in the house at all times, not buying junk to put in the house. I have also realized that if I take the time to plan what we have for dinner that week that I eat better and loose weight that week.

Skylar and Lizzy both had their birthdays in the last couple of weeks and after looking at the pictures I realized why I am always behind the camera. I hate how I look in front of the camera. Here is a rare thing that I am going to do. Here is the picture that kicks me in the gut when I see it.

I am going to print it and post it to look at every day to motivate me to make good choices and then next to it I am going to post these to also motivate me to make good choices so I am around for them.

I have also realized that what I see in my head of what I look like and what other people see are two different things. I would love to be the person I see in my head. So here it begins.

Hike

What a great day we had today. The girls and I got to sleep in! Then we cleaned, just a little bit. After that we went to the grocery and it was a good experience, for once. After lunch we decided to all go on a hike! We headed over to Chain O'Lakes State Park and picked an easy trail.

At one point we let the girls pick at a fork in the trail and that turned our 1.3 mile hike into a 2 + mile hike! The girls did great! Jenna got tired but Daddy's shoulders were a great place to ride.

It was great to be back in the woods and getting our bodies moving in the fresh air. Lizzy was our hike leader and she wanted to run the whole thing. I think she about doubled her hike because she ran ahead and then would come back.

Jenna just wanted to be with the big girls!

It was a great day and a great end to the weekend!
