Weekend in Review

Well, it has been a long weekend but good! The word for the weekend is WINTER.

We started with an extra day tacked on the weekend because of icy roads. By the time we were up and around the roads were clear so out of the house we went! Just a bunch of errands and girl time!

Saturday rolled around and we had to go to the grocery, along with everyone else in town. It was crazy!!!!! There was a huge forecast for snow so everyone was buying out the store. We just looked like we were part of the problem. It was pretty crazy!!!!

Saturday night came with family movie time, Desspicable Me. It was relaxing!

We woke up to snow, as predicted. Sunday was spent going out in the snow, working on projects, and playing. I worked on a project for my sister for their Disney Cruise and lesson planning. It was great!

We get an extra day of weekend again. It was a great weekend and I am thankful for the extra day! Hope you had a great weekend and a happy Monday!

Weekend in Review

So all of a sudden it is Monday night and I am watching girls deconstruct right here on my TV. Yep you guessed it I am watching the Bachelor. I am pretty sure they look for the craziest girls they can and put them together except for a few normal ones! I am a Bachelor addict I will admit it.

I then realized that I hadn't posted anything today so I will do my weekend in review for Tuesday! It was a pretty calm weekend.

Skylar had a friend over to work on their science fair project.

I went shopping at Gymboree with my gymbucks.

Church and just hanging out with my girls!

That was about it.

Here are the pictures from this weekend.
1.I bought Jenna some leopard ears and she won't take them off.
 2. Working on their gum chewing science experiment
 3. My girl so proud of her A/B Honor Roll
 4. The photo challenge that I am doing this month had the topic of remember. This is the picture I posted, my grandma and Skylar. I miss her and chance for her to meet my girls and my girls to meet and learn from her.
That is the weekend and I am looking forward to a quiet week ahead!

Unplugged

I counted up the amount of technology pieces we have in our house and the number shocked me. There were pieces that we haven't used in over a year. It made me start to think about why we have it all and how much time do we spend on it.

The conclusion I came to was we have way too much and spend way too much time on it.

So now I have to decide what to do about it. I am going to start with my phone. I am going to take Pinterest and Facebook off the phone. I am going to limit myself to checking my email twice a day. I am also going to slim down my Instagram and Facebook followings.

I want to make a more intentional effort to be with my kiddos and be present! I think 10 years down the road I will be glad I did!

I know there are things that I can't get rid of because I will go into withdrawl and you may find me in a corner crying and rocking! I love my Instagram!!!!

Be the best you and not an imperfect version of someone else! That is what I want to live by!

Who Do You Root For?

As some major sporting seasons come to an end I thought it would be fun to see who other people root for in sports!

We are an Indiana family through and through!!!!

Because I graduated from Indiana University we naturally root for IU in all things. I have raised my girls as Indiana fans! It is a great to be IU fans because you get to teach humility in winning and loosing because the football team is not the best and the basketball team has its positive moments. I love that no matter win or loose my girls know you root for the cream and crimson!!! When we are out shopping the girls will tell you that anything IU is mommy's team!

It was great to be able to take them to see the campus and show them the stadiums that we see on TV. I now have one that is convinced she will go to IU and play softball!!! Great traditions! My goal is to get them to an IU football game this fall! That is my absolute favorite! Nothing can beat sitting in a football stadium rooting on your team!

Speaking of football, the other major team we root for is the Colts! I so wish we could take the girls to a game because the atmosphere at a Colts game is amazing! It is so loud! They were able to go on a tour with us when Lucas Oil Stadium opened. They loved it because they could get down on the field and into the locker rooms. The hubby and I have been to a couple of games, that is actually where I realized I was pregnant with one of the girls. Walking through a store Jenna will see Colts blue and all you hear is, "That's Daddy's team!" Sunday is always football day and the girls know they don't get the big TV until the game is over.

Once football is over we are watching IU basketball but not like football.

Then come baseball season. There are no real pro allegiance in this family. The hubby likes the Cubs but doesn't have to watch them. He would much rather see them in person. We do like to go to the local baseball field and cheer on the TinCaps!! It is a great place to watch baseball!!

So who does your family root for?

Weekend in Review

It is now Monday and we have to get back to the grind! At least I have two extra hours to make the transition. More snow means more sleep time for my kiddos!!

Here is a recap of our weekend. It was a quiet weekend but a good one!

Here is why it was quiet! It was cold!

Here is what happened a lot this weekend, pjs and video games!

While these two played video games Skylar and I went shopping.

We went to church on Sunday and it was just what I needed! Great music and great friends. After church was football and games.

It was a great family weekend and a great way to lead into this coming week!

Show & Tell - Resolutions and Goals

Today, I am hooking up with Andrea at Momfessionals for her Show & Tell series. I love linking up and being able to find inspiration and new blogs to follow.

I don't have resolutions because to me that is either a make it or break it and I have never done well with resolutions. So I do goals!!!! Here is my list of goals for 2015.

Get Healthier - drink more water and walk 10,000 steps. I wear a fit bit and use it to help count my steps.

Leave school at school - need to do this to make more quality time for my family. This means that I need to focus and stay on top of grading!

Have a special day with each one of my girls and also one with my hubby - We all need this special time!!! We spend time as a family but rarely do I get one on one time with each of them.

Spend more time in the Word - I want to find a good devotion to follow and be able to grow in my faith! Anyone have any suggestions?

Create some family traditions - not sure what I want to do here. I just know that I want things that my kiddos will always associate with our family!

This is the theme that I have chosen for me for the year.  I have it as the background on my phone so every time I do anything on my phone it is there!

Those are the goals that I have. I am going to run an update once a month to track my progress on each goal!

Weekend in Review

Our weekend was a mix of family and relaxation. It really started on Friday.

Friday was spent shopping with my mom and sisters while the kids and boys played with Lego Friends. I love that my husband in willing to sit for hours and build Legos for 5 girls!!! This was the text I got when everything was built!

There are no pictures of Lego land because there were no moms home to take the picture! We then went to the Famous Coney Island for dinner and to see the huge Santa lights. We also went through the Fantasy of Lights! What a great night!

We started Saturday at Grandma and Papa's house because my sister and family were leaving on Sunday morning. So we were soaking up all the Harter time we could get. We ended up just hanging out at the house and the girls all played. Eventually, Jen and I ran into town to get Lee's Famous Recipe chicken. Yummy!!!! After dinner we packed up and went home so the Harters could have some alone time with Grandma and Papa before they left. As we got in the car Skylar was crying because she already was missing them! I love her love for family!!!

Sunday was spent putting Christmas away and cleaning the house. I mean really cleaning the house. Whew, it was a lot of work. I also worked on laundry and only put a dent in the pile. That was really all we did on Sunday. It was fantastic!!!!!
