2 days left

There are now only two days left until our new one arrives. I am done with school until January. THe house is clean and everything seems to be in order. I think everyone is getting anxious for this one to arrive. Skylar can't wait and can tell you that in 2 days the baby is coming. Our house is getting smaller as we add the baby stuff back in. I forgot how much such a little one needs. I am trying to tie up loose ends here at the house and make sure that Chris will be ok doing the daily duties while I am in the hospital. I go in Wednesday morning at 5:30 am and should be in surgury by 7:30 am. I should be home sometime Saturday afternoon as long as everything goes well! We will get pictures up as fast as we can. I am not sure how quick since I am the one that usually does all that! Keep checking abck for the pictures and information on the baby.

We took the girls trick-or-treating this weekend at the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum so I could go with them. They will also get to go on Friday but at least I got to see them dressed up and help with that. Check out our pictures!

One Month Left

There is only one month left until the arrival of our little one. The anticipation and nervousness is mounting. We are now frantically trying to get the house in order to add one more little body and a lot of stuff to it. Skylar is excited and ready and Lizzy finally realizes that there is a baby in mommy's tummy. I am sure that she has no clue what that means though. There is a lot to do before we are ready and I am sure that it will not all be done before he/she comes!
Chris has now been working out of town so we spend time with grandma!! Our weekends become jammed with things to get the house ready and still have the girls do some fun stuff!!! I now start going to the doctor every week starting tomorrow!

Little One

We now have a date for our newest arrival. It will be October 29th. I am excited and ready. There has been a lot going on lately and no time to write about it.

Skylar has started kindergarten and has finally settled into it. She had a little bit of a rough start but now she is in the routine of it and seems to be getting along with everyone and making new friends. This is the most that I have ever heard her talk about friends at school or anywhere. She sings us songs and is working on sight words and knowing the letters and sounds out of order! She seems to be doing really well. She is really excited about the baby! She told me last night that she loves the baby and it already loves her too.

Lizzy went back to daycare and seems a little lost without Skylar with her. This is the first that she has really been anywhere without Skylar for a long period of time. She, also, seems to be doing well. We are starting to cut back her nap time. She would still sleep for 2 or 3 hours in the afternoon if she could! Then she is up late at night with Daddy!!! We are trying to fix that before the baby comes. She has no clue that there is going to be anything different in her world anytime soon. It will be interesting to see how she reacts!

Chris finally got the bathroom finished. He had to rip up part of the floor and redo it because the toilet was leaking. Everything is fixed and in working order. I love it!!!! He is trying to finish up all the little projects around the house before he has no time and the weather is not cooperating.

As for me, I am feeling good. I am tired by the end of a day of teaching but everything is going well. I am ready to have this little one here! School is all settled and it seems like we have been in for months not weeks. This year is actually going better than any other year I have and it is my hardest workload year. Strange how things work.

I will try and do better with posting. Things got busy and I am sure you all know how that goes!!! Keep in touch and watch at the end of October for pictures and details about our new one!!!!

Fun August Weekend

Yesterday we spent our last summer weekend in Indy. We took the girls to the zoo and then we took Chris to the opening of Lucas Oil Stadium. The zoo was gerat. The girls loved the dolphin show. It is great to be able to show them animals that they don't get to see here in Fort Wayne. After we were done with the zoo we walked over to the new stadium to take a tour of it. After waiting for about 1/2 hour we were let in and allowed to meander around the stadium at our pwn pace. It is a very impressive place. Chris was in heaven and now really wants to go to a Colts game. The funny thing is that the girls were just as excited as Chris was. It was a great end to the summer vacation for us.

Tomorrow Skylar starts kindergarten. I am nervous that she will not be able to handle the whole day but she is excited!!! Check back soon to see how it all goes!!!

The countdown is on for the new baby. I have gone from once a month appointments to twice a month. There is only 2 1/2 months left and we will have 3 little ones!!! I am starting to get excited and ready for the baby to be here!!!!

Make sure you check the pictures of the zoo and the stadium!

Special Day!

We decided that Skylar needed a special day with just mom and dad! She gets that there is a baby coming and knows what that means for the time with mom and dad. We decided to take her to Chuck E Cheese. She talked about going for days and was always telling Lizzy that she was not coming with us. Lizzy could have cared less becuase she spent that time with Grandma and Papa. We spent two hours doing whatever Skylar wanted to do and she had the attention of both of us for hte whole time. It was strange being with only one child! While we were there she ran into one of her friends from school and it remined me how much she is growing up. Here are some pictures from it. Also make sure to look at the album for the rest of the pictures from it!

After we got home from that we took the girls to Kid City in Kendallville. There was a lot of activities for them to do and they each got to make a sandwhich by themselves with no help from parents! It was interesting to watch! They also painted dome things and both got balloon turtle bracelets!

Overall it was a great day with the girls doing things that they like to do. Make sure to check out he photos!

Brickyard 400 2008

Here is some video from our weekend! Chris and I went to the Brickyard 400 with my parents. It was great. It was hot but that is all part of the race experience! Chris had a great time and as soon as we got home he was on the web checking the points standings. I thinkhe enjoyed it more than he let anyone know! He even tried to look up how much tickets were for next year. I think we may be returning some time soon! It was a great day. The funny thing is all the pictures I took were of hte cars and of people that I didn't know. There is no actuall proof that Chris and I went. I got caught up in the race and forgot to get a picture of us there! The girls spent the whole day with Aunt Kacee and Travis and they had a blast!!! They both slept until 9 or 9:30 the next morning!!! Make sure you check out the new pictures also. Skylar got a big bike and there are some pictures of her riding it. I am going to try and get some video up of it also!

Wet Weekend

Well after much delay we went camping at Chain O'Lakes State Park. It was great the first night. Saturday it rained for about 2 hours and so we hung out in the tent and the girls watched a movie. After that we tried to take the girls swimming but Skylar wanted nothing to do with the water. It was a lake and she wasn't so sure about it! Lizzy ran around all weekend without shoes and she was so dirty but loving it. Skylar had fun also just playing. It was great to see them play without a tv or anything to help them think! Saturday night brought thunder so we packed what was outside just in case it rained. Good thing because about 5:15 in the morning it stormed and the girls were up. Luckily we were close enought o home that we packed up everything but the tent and came home to sleep. We went back to get the tent and all was ok. This is a typical camping weekend witht he Akey's. We can alsways count on it raining or soemthing strange happening.

Here are the girls watching their movie.

Bathroom renovations are almost over. We are now just waiting on the plumber to come and finish the sink and fix the shower. We are almost there. There are still some finishing touches that we need to do but it is functional!!! It has only taken 2 months for a little bathroom. I would hate to see what would happen if we tried to add on a lot of space!
