January 19- 25

So because of the snow I had to look at the calendar just to figure out what day of the week it is and what the date was. We have had the most bizarre winter ever. Let me recap this week for you. Oh wait, I can't even remember what days we were in school and which we weren't. I think we went three days but I am not totally sure. There has been so much snow and cold this winter that I am so ready for it to be gone! I want to be somewhere warm and on a normal schedule. It is so hard to be motivated to do anything when it is this cold and you know that you are not going anywhere.

Here is what I do remember about this week. We had a lot of time spent doing family things. A lot of pajama time. Some normal school time but even those were crazy because of delays. and my house went from clean to dirty to clean again.

Let me add some pics to help show what our week was like!

Jan 11 - 19

So it is a little more than a week but better late than never!!

So looking back at the calendar what happened this week? Not a lot to tell you the truth! We started back to school and only had one 2-hour delay this week! It was great getting back to school and seeing my students but I really did miss spending the time with my girls. I also realized that when I work a full day I don't get a lot accomplished at night! I need to work on fixing that.

We were back in the full swing of things with dance and school! Jenna also made her second visit this year to the dentist to get a cavity filled.

I have decided that each week I am going to set a goal for myself that will change my life for the better! This weeks goal was to only have 1-2 Diet Cokes a day. I was so very proud of myself that I only had one a day and was able to substitute a lot of what I was drinking with water!

It was not as hard as I thought it would be! I decided the key is to stay busy. It was not a very exciting week. But it was our week!

52 Weeks in a Year!

So there are 52 weeks in a year. I decided that this year I want to be more intentional about spending time with my family. This is how I am going to keep myself accountable to that goal!

I am going to, once a week, write about what we have done the last week! Some weeks will be super duper boring because of work and school and general life, but I know we will have some great weeks! I am looking forward to really focusing on what is good in my life. I have three great reasons to be thankful.

This picture makes me laugh because it is so them. Crazy in the middle!!!

Here goes with the first post! So I am actually behind a week but I will quickly catch up!

Week 1: December 29 - January 4
This was the second week of our Christmas Break from school and work for me! It was a great week to clean! I cleaned the whole house and realized how much stuff we have in this house that we do not use. I am blessed with material things and we decided that we do not need this much stuff. One thing we will be doing this year is purging our stuff. I have found some great inspiration and ideas from reading what Shay writes on her blog: Mix and Match Family. I love reading her blog and realistically applying some of the things she does. I also envy the fact that she lives in Texas! Anyways, cleaning that is what I was talking about. Like I said purging is a great word for us this year! It will be a long process but we can get it accomplished. The girls and I didn't do a lot this week because we were recovering from the Harter's being here all last week. We so love them being here! Here are a few pics from that week!

I think about sums up what we did this week! Lots of cleaning and sleeping and just hanging out!

Walt Disney World - Day 1 and half of Day 2

I have been planning a trip to Walt Disney World with the Harter's and Grandma and Papa for over a year and now it is over. So that sounds really depressing! I guess it kind of is because it was so much fun and now it is all over but it was a great time!!!!! So many memories made!

Day 1 - June 22
We left at 6:30 am! Everyone was super excited! We had everything all packed in the car and all we had to do was pack the kids! We had a long day ahead of us but with Disney on the horizon it was going to be ok! The girls were really good in the car! They only watched one movie the entire 12 hour drive. Skylar played the license plate game and Lizzy and Jenna were occupied with the many things in their car bags. The Harter's facetimed us and kept checking to see where we were. It was fun! Finally, we made it to Macon, GA and our hotel. We ate dinner and then got ready for bed! Amazingly the girls went to bed really easy!

Day 2 - June 23
The girls woke up and there was a special prize from Tinkerbelle waiting for them. The note said that because they had been so good in the car she had left them matching shirts so she could find them when they made it to Walt Disney World! We were on the road by 7 am. After a couple of hours we finally saw the sign that made the trip a little more real!

After having some orange juice and grapefruit juice we were back in the car for the final couple of hours to Disney. Jenna fell asleep and I was afraid that she would miss the Walt Disney World sign. We quickly woke her up and this is what happened!

Finally, we were at our destination, Port Orleans Riverside, and the Harter's were waiting for us. As Chris and I checked in the cousins got some much needed time! Everyone was so excited! After a fairly quick lunch at the cafeteria we were all ready to head to Magic Kingdom and see Cinderella's Castle. I think I may have been more excited about going than the girls. I so wanted to see their reaction when they saw everything we had been talking about for so long. We rode the monorail and the girls got their first glimpse of the castle.

After the monorail, we went into Magic Kingdom and got to meet Mickey Mouse! Lizzy didn't want anything to do with him but the other two loved it! We also went up to the castle and watched one of the shows and then went to Dumbo!

After Dumbo, we headed to the all new Fantasyland! Skylar loved all the Ariel things and I was really impressed with all of it! We were able to ride a few things and then headed back to the hotel for a special surprise!

                                                                  Watching Philharmagic!

Where has the time gone? That always seems to be the question. We are finally starting to see the sun shine for more than just a few hours at a time! The girls and I are on Spring Break this week, and it is the first time in years that we have stayed home. Usually I have an itch to go somewhere about a week before break but not this year. i was so excited to just stay home! I have so much laundry to do and just relaxing with my girls. There are no plans for the week except Disney on Ice on Thursday!  It is a pajama, cleanin' house kind of day! I love it!

Here is a typical shot of the three. It is really hard to get them all to look at the camera and smile!

Jenna has her issues with pictures, notice the legs!
